Note To Moderator

Dear Moderator,
We were set a task where we had to create a promotional package for the release of a new film which is of a horror genre.We had to create a trailer a website and a poster as ancillary tasks to help promote the film.There are labels attached to each of my posts to help navigate you around my blog.Throughout the process of construction,research and planning I worked with Nicole Margetts her candidate number is:2243
During the construction process my contributions were:
-Creating the design for the distribution logo and researching ideas for this
-We both worked through the construction process together:We both filmed together and did certain scenes each with a camera
-I created and designed the potential titles of the name of the film
-I recorded and collected people so I can use them as a news reporter and record their voices
-I created the contact page of the website
-I creared the website 'blurb' that is is also included in the trailer
-I also created the presentation in the trailer that appears in the teacher scene
-Sourced some locations for the trailer
We worked together alot throughout the construction process.

Your question 2 is much better Charlotte. Well done. You need to add a few more visuals midway through as it stays black when you discuss colour - otherwise your visuals are good. You could also add a tiny bit on why synergy across all 3 products is important - link to your brief i.e. promotional package.

-Link to purpose of trailer-create enigma, excitement and anticipation

-Establish genre, narrative-characters and some of the storyline

-Anchoring the narrative-Text is a link to providing information to the viewer.It anchors the information and the clips so therefore it makes more sense

- The structure doesnt have to be in order- codes and conventions of the trailer where does it start etc? include in the editing for question 1

Question 3 - Evaluation Planning

I am going to record my voice of what I have learnt from the audience feedback and some examples of the feedback that we were given.I will then create a video with pictures of what our products look like before and after audience feedback.

Planning-
-There was small dialogue so maybe include some more
-Add more shocking frames
-Think about iconography
-How can the killer have their own style
-Is the killer male or female - make more clear
-The text at the beginning can be more slow
-Add more footage
-Build up the story line more for the viewer - make it more misleading
-Good use of MES ,storyline and sound
-Story line is good
-News flash is effective
-Camera filters are good
-Clips cooperate well with each other
-Good transitions
-Slow shots into faster ones is effective
-Set the scene well with captions                        
-There are no copyright issues- an original idea
-Need to create or keep someone alive for a character the audience can relate too

Website Ancillary-Changes

We changed the background of the website as we have changed the poster, therefore we wanted to maintain a house style which will help to promote the product more.We also added in the logo at the bottom to make sure it looks professional.

New poster drafts

We have changed the colouring of the hand on the poster by making it daker on serif.We have also added effects of feathering the images at the sides so they blend together more.We also have added in text to the bottom which is similar to the paranormal activity one, we have added in the production of the trailer and the names of people who are featured in the trailer.Which we feel looks more effective and professional.

 

Poster inspiration

We had some inspiration from the paranormal activity poster as we think it is very effective even though not much is featured on it.We both liek the colour schemes and they match our trailer well , which will keep to the same house style throughout.

Your Q4 is pretty good in terms of content. There is a punctuation error on the final cut pro section but I like it that you link to genre here. Try and be more specific in terms of your use of serif - feathering and cropping etc. Also mention production/post production terms when exploring your construction. It is very text heavy. Could you include some of the info in a different way?

Poster Draft

We went out today and took pictures of someone featured in our trailer, we decided to do a close up of her face to show her emotion and fear to signal to the audience that she is terrified and scared.We are maybe going to edit the lighting of the image to make it darker and the hand we may change to postion to look like it is grabbing her.
